Outline
War has been a part of history since the beginning of time. It has been a curse and a blessing of being able to think and act upon war. Throughout history, humans have been able to win and lose, and through these losses and victories, we have been able to create certain guide lines that help protect and ensure the safety of anyone who is an innocent civilian. These guide lines, or laws, have been created and adopted by United Nations and anyone who violates it will be put to justice. These crimes that the soldiers commit are called war crimes. They violate the United Nation articles 3, 5, 9 and many more, depending on the crime that has been done. Even after war is over, soldiers can be charged of violating a law of war, whatever age or gender they are. Justice will come those who are deserving.
I choose this topic because I want to speak for those who have been affected by war crimes. I want to speak for those who can’t or don't want to speak for themselves or anyone else. I want to raise awareness that, yes, this is happening in the world that we live in and will continue to happen throughout future wars. We need to listen to those who have been affected by war crimes, respond with care, and spread the word that war crimes are happening so we can unite as one and try to stop war crimes.
